Tiny baby booties for small feet - knitted baby shoes pattern

Hand knitted baby booties for newborns keep little feet warm and cozy. These tiny baby shoes are knitted in one piece, almost seamless. Paired with matching baby mittens and a bonnet, they create a beautiful set - perfect for a newborn or a baby shower. Knitted with circular knitting needles these baby booties and sweet ballerinas are ideal for beginners and can be completed in just one or two evenings. If you want to knit your first pair of baby shoes, the following foot lengths can serve as a rough guide:

  • 0 - 3 months, 3.15 - 3.93 in (ca. 8 - 10 cm)
  • 2 - 8 months, 3.93 - 4.33 in (ca. 10 - 11 cm)
  • 8 - 12 months, 4.33 - 4.72 in (ca. 11 - 12 cm)
  • 12 - 18 months, 4.72 - 5.11 in (ca. 12 - 13 cm)

How many stitches to cast on for baby booties?

In my baby booties patterns, you’ll always find the exact number of stitches to cast on tailored to your baby’s age. However, you can easily adjust the size by choosing different yarn weights: knit the same booties with a finer yarn for a smaller fit, or use a thicker yarn to create baby shoes that turn out slightly larger.
